Walgreens design system

I currently serve as design lead for Walgreens Design System’s retail platform, ensuring consistency through effective design governance & collaboration with our UX team members.

My role involves creating key components & design standards which are then used by our UX team & third-party partners to maintain consistency across various touchpoints within the Walgreens design ecosystem.

Our challenge

Before the design system was established, many teams relied on their own component sheets which created inconsistencies and redundancy in our workflows. This issue grew exponentially once engineering teams began duplicating & sharing these documents for their own purposes. If a component required an update, it usually meant having to track down every instance to match.
